Take the mystery out of firing. This beginner-friendly workshop is built for artists who've recently brought home a kiln and want to feel confident actually using it. We'll walk through everything you need for those crucial first steps — safe setup, loading shelves, understanding your controller, and choosing a firing schedule that won't leave you guessing.

You'll leave knowing how to prepare your kiln for use, avoid the mistakes most new owners make, and troubleshoot the small stuff before it becomes a big stuck-project problem. We'll also cover studio safety, ventilation, and basic maintenance — so your kiln stays reliable for years, not just your first firing.
