Fused Glass 101: Intro to Fusing

Dive into the foundations of fused glass in Fused Glass 101: Intro to Fusing, a beginner-friendly class designed to build confidence, teach essential skills, and explore the possibilities of glass fusing in a safe studio environment. You’ll learn proper studio etiquette, safety protocols, and essential glass cutting techniques, along with the fundamentals of full fusing, design, and assembly to create your own custom 6" x 6" fused glass dish. Emphasis will be on safe tool handling, clean cutting, and thoughtful composition, providing a solid foundation for advanced classes and independent Open Studio work.

Prerequisites

No prior experience necessary.

This class is the required prerequisite for all advanced and specialty fused glass classes.

Class Details

• Design and create one 6" x 6" fused glass dish
• Instruction in studio safety and etiquette
• Essential glass cutting techniques
• Fundamentals of full fusing and project assembly
• Duration: 3 hours
• All supplies included
• Finished artwork will be kiln-fired after class
• Finished piece size: approximately 6" x 6"
• Ages 16+

• Closed-toe shoes required
• Ready for pickup approximately 7–10 days after class
